Meet the Team

Rob Day

Co-founder

Born in Phoenix, AZ, Rob spent most of his growing up years traveling across the northern states and settled in San Diego for his teenage years. He learned many carpentry skills under his stepfather, and through vocational classes at his high school. As an adult, he couldn’t get away from Arizona, no matter how hard he tried. He utilized his construction background to obtain further knowledge and employment in the construction industry, including furniture making and cabinetry. Once tired of the early mornings and hot Arizona sun, Rob changed careers and moved to a grocery store, quickly moving up the corporate ladder into a Grocery Manager position. Tired of working 18-hour days and not seeing his family, Rob prayed for an open door. On a particular mission trip to Mexico, God showed him that open door, and his life, and his family’s life, has never been the same.

Christy Day

Co-founder

Born in a tiny town in southwest Tennessee, Christy moved with her family to Arizona just after kindergarten. From living in the dangerous streets of South Phoenix, to then moving to a very religious community in Mesa, religion was an expectation and a box to mark off each week. As Christy excelled in school, she moved on campus to Arizona State University to pursue a BS in Electrical Engineering. Realizing that Engineering wasn’t her passion, she took a semester to “figure herself out”, which involved walking away from the religion of her youth. After many years of wandering, she met Rob, and they had their first child. A couple years later they got married and quickly and their second child. Through complications with their second child, God revealed himself to Rob and Christy in a way that was undeniable. About a year and a half later, Rob and Christy actively pursued a relationship with God, and He put the building blocks back together. Christy worked for the church where they were saved as a Children’s Director for five years, and later earned a BS in Psychology with an emphasis in Addiction and Recovery; something that is frequently used in their ministry.

Isaiah Adams

Construction Lead

Isaiah Adams grew up on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in Arizona. At a young age under his mother’s direction, he and his brothers started ministering through music in a group called “Three King Servants”. As Isaiah grew up, each brother began their own adult lives, and Isaiah had spent many years working a secular job to pay the bills, but was left unfulfilled. Isaiah and his wife, Katrina, met Rob and Christy at a church they were all attending in San Carlos. In 2022, circumstances were just right for Isaiah to leave his secular job and begin volunteering with Abiding Ministries, and he hasn’t left. He enjoys working with Abiding Ministries and is our un-paid Food Pantry Manager. Isaiah also helps Rob with construction projects. He and his wife were blessed to add Gracie Joy into their lives in 2023. He still enjoys doing music ministry in his spare time and now he’s a family man. They are excited to be in the process of getting their own piece of land in San Carlos, where their future house will be built. Isaiah and Katrina have both been a blessing to the work that God is doing through Abiding Ministries!
